  8. SYMPTOM:  Underscore and Column Separators appear as reverse image on VGA,
  9. EGA and CGA monitors.

  11. ISSUE/PROBLEM
  12. The 3270 LAN Workstation does not support the graphical underscore
  13. character on color monitors.
  14. The 5250 Column Separator is automatically changed to an underscore, thus
  15. displaying in reverse image.

  17. SOLUTION
  18. The DOS "MODE" command provides an alternative:
  19.      From the DOS prompt enter:
  20.           MODE MONO
  21.           WSLAN     (to load the 3270 LAN Workstation)
  22.           MODE CO80

  24. This will cause the AS/400 session to display in monochrome mode thus
  25. providing the underscore and column separators, while PC applications will
  26. still appear in color display mode.  The user will be able to toggle
  27. between an AS/400 session in mono mode and a network application (such as
  28. Wordperfect) in color mode.

  30. The reverse image block that appears on the color display screen for
  31. underscore and column separator fields will no longer be present.
